Updating My Blogroll - Part 2

Most days when I'm traveling between my home in San Francisco and my office in Walnut Creek, you'll find me catching up on the blogs I follow. Here are six other blogs that I follow.

Vintage Cookbooks

  1. The Knotty Bride
I've been a fan of Alison's since I was planning my wedding. Her personality and wry wit have me hooked. She shares all that is wrong with The Bachelor/ette Reality Shows in her lengthy recaps. I'm glued to my Twitter feed when the shows air; occasionally if a comment is too good, I'll actually cue up the episode the next day to fully appreciate her commentary. She's one of the few bloggers to feature Boudoir sessions, in addition to the typical Engagement Sessions and Love Shoots. Twitter: @TheKnottyBride.
  2. Making Magique
I love purses. I came across Making Magique by diligently following a photograph of a Chanel purse from Tumblr down various alleys and dead ends on the Internet. I'm glad that I did not abandon my quest. Over the time I've followed Haleigh's blog, she's opened her closet, sharing the most dreamy clothes, redecorated her apartment, attended many fashion shows, and now launched her own clothing line Rebelle. While she shares life's ups and downs, her blog primarily captures the magique: the moments worth documenting, the memories worth sharing." Twitter: @MakingMagique.
  3. Not Just a Housewife
I stumbled across Stacy's blog trying to find the source for a cool DIY project on Pinterest. I stuck around because Stacy keeps it real on her blog, for example, sharing outtakes when projects don't go as planned (and let's be honest who hasn't had a few oops?). She first started blogging when her husband was laid off with modest goals for her blog. Her can do attitude is infectious. (If you're in need of a pick me up, read her "You are not 'Just' anything!" post.) Twitter: @HousewifeStacy.
  4. Stumble and Leap
I started following Becca when we were both planning our weddings. Her wedding blog, A Los Angeles Love, helped me remain sane while battling the WIC (Wedding Industrial Complex). After her wedding day, Becca, like so many of us, wanted to focus on life rather than a single day. She began a new blog, Stumble and Leap. Becca doesn't post frequently, but when she does, she offers a much needed perspective on handling challenges that life throws at you (check out her February post "Life is What Happens When Your Busy Making Other Plans"). Twitter: @StumbleLeap.
  5. Tales of a Trophy Wife
Tara shares every day life with tweens and teens along with fun crafts and DIYs. She and her husband have been married for 16 years; on their anniversary, she offered advice on how to divorce proof your marriage. I love how she reframes "Trophy Wife." Twitter: @TaraTrophyWife.
  6. Vixen Vintage
Solanah lives in vintage clothes, and has the wardrobe that I have in my dreams. (Her favorite decade is the 1940s but a lot of her clothes are from the 1950s.) Along with amazing images of her outfits she shares her go to vintage stores and designers for reproduction clothes. I got a bunch of my favorite 1950s sweaters from stores she frequents. Twitter: @Solanah.
